Too busy/cluttered for my taste....
Stole the words right from my mouth.

That and IMHO Porsche is a bit crazy with that stop watch from the center dash. I mean ok i understand it a bit, but come on it's like a cooking watch you find in kitchens

That's part of an option called Sport Chrono. I agree that the timer itself is a bit unfortunate, but the extras it comes with are ultra worthwhile (particularly as the Panamera gets the PDK transmission as standard). It remaps the throttle, changes the PDK shiftmap and it gives the car launch control. Net result is that the Turbo is officially getting a 4.0 time for 0-60. Simply incredible performance for a car of its size. Porsche, however, always understates performance (as does BMW) so the real times will be under 4 seconds.

People said that about the Cayenne, and it's gone on to become Porsche's best selling model. The Panamera will also be a success. Tough to second guess Porsche - they're probably the smartest auto manufacturer on the planet. You only have to look at the way they took control of VW (and $8.2 billion in profit in 2008) as evidence.

I know my friend about Sport Chrono and Sport Chrono Plus. I was talking exactly about the design of the timer/watch. What it actually does/bring is indeed fantastic. I wish some of them were available in BMWs also.

It's a nice looking car and assembled beautifully, I just don't like the OVER-abundance of buttons and switches inside nor the STARK contrast of the dark blue with the creamy interior color!

I think the layout and design that Porsche chose here makes it look like there's a lot of buttons but there really aren't that many. There aren't many buttons on the main panel (the navigation is touchscreen) and the concentration of buttons around the center console (as a design feature) focuses the eye on the buttons so it perhaps looks worse than it is. As a compare and contrast, there isn't a massive difference between the total number of buttons here and say an 09 E60 which has a higher button count than older model years (iDrive alone now has seven or 8 buttons around the controller and there are the new programmable buttons on the main panel too).
