New RS6 with 571 hp and over 730 ft-lbs torque, absolutely insance.

Audi?s new RS6 will blow away the competition when it hits the street with a supercar rivaling 571hp output derived from its twin-turbo V10 engine.

Following the release of the regular sedan and Avant models of the RS6, Audi is expected to launch a ?Plus? version with even more power. Current estimates are around the 620 to 635hp. Beyond this, the same twin-turbo powerplant will make its way into a high-performance RS version of the R8 super-sports car.

$100K would seem relatively cheap for those power numbers. Man, I think I need to save money for the RDSport RS56 motor conversion...hahaha.... time to go to bed and dream.

Nice numbers, but that's it. Nothing interesting, at least not yet.

i saw one of these on the road one day.....it was red...beautiful looking car but if these new rs models are anything like the older ones then i dont think that the m5's will have any problems. Yea they can pump out 570 horses but how does the car handle this power. If it cant control this power effectively on the road its useless. anyone driven it???

I don't think you saw an RS6. It hasn't come out yet unless it was a test mule. You probably saw the S6.

As for power handling...the RS6 has quattro all wheel drive so it'll have no problem controlling and putting all that power to the ground. The downside is the additional weight with the quattro system but I think that will not be an issue with all this power and torque.

The V8 RS4 seems to be walking it in the british press when comparing it with the first new V8 M3s so I wouldnt mind betting the RS6 will do the same thing to the M5....especially with those power figures (with more on tap if you go for a remap and exhaust!)

Yeah, for a few thousand dollars, the RS6 will probably easily push high 600s or close to 700 hp.
