True... However I can believe them to some degree, as they make a valid point of the XK8 weighing 290kg's lighter than the 650i, On paper at least the XK8 should outhandle the 650i.
it is a great car of course. I just received the brochure from jaguar... nice they did a lot of testing on the suspension this time around (previous XK was like a couch), and even evo was impressed with it!

but its tooo expensive, works out about ?6000 more than the 650i

They mentioned this in the review also, The 650i had all the toys and was around 60k i think, the jag was 65k with some things missing... The old XKR had some grunt though , shame it handled like jelly. I allways remembered how the front end would lift 8 inches or so when you floored it, or it nose dived under quick braking

i know btw you know that jaguar performance made a last ever model of the old XKR with 480bhp and race suspension. Now that car is an absolute MOOOONSTER and also handles like a charm. Pity its 81000?

BTW i went to get a quote of the two cars, quite loaded, and i was told 63000? for the 6 series and 69700? for the xk... Too much of a difference. For 70k? i would be looking at a semi loaded porsche carrera s

I believe that contrary to popular believe, Jag aren't expecting to steal Porsche / BMW buyers with the new XK. Plus the price is set as a marketing ploy anyway - no one pays book price for a Jag as they know its basically a Ford

True, But then someone would have to be silly to pay book price for anything. Unless it has a 2 year waiting list or something 'exotic'

I wonder if this also holds true for the "Ford" V8 Vantage...

And won't the Jag get a power boost (supercharger) late in the year? That should make up the in the power difference. I will check this Jag out as they finally do have a modern one that please me esthetically. Also I believe they will do a hard automatic tonneau cover for the cabrio model. There current manual clump of crap cover looks atrocious in today's modern clean look environment.

Love it. But I won't buy a Jaguar, BMW reliability is bad enough, I am not going to buy another brand that has worse reliability issues.

Need to work every week, I don't have the lexury to drive the car to dealer all the time. At least BMW has far more dealer/shops in US.
