Steering harder keep car more stable at high speed.

lol ... and who told you that? the little green elf named "Bring Mich Werkstatt" ?

funny, last i checked, we had the S class up to

and it did feel pretty stable ... the S class will be one of the softest, and least road feel steering cars out there ;-)

When a car has sharp handling, you would want "harder" steering at high speed so that if you shiver you don't accidentally change the direction of the drive.

When a car has numb steering, you would need to turn hard to change direction also; in a way you will feel that it is stable also.

the A6 drives smooth as butter - you have way less "road feel" - less of a sporty interaction with the road. driving style wise i'd compare the A6 to the feel of the latest S class (M - whereas the e60 gives you more feed back from the road & the steering is harder.

This is contrary to my personal experience. Audi A4, A6 all have busy rides. E60 ride is not as smooth as some of the Japanese/German makes, but definitely better than the Audi.

I've owned two later model Audi's. Good, solidly engineered Teutonic cars, but in the back of my mind all the while I owned them, a little voice whispered "upscale Volkswagen; company in financial distress". Shallow, yes I am.

I dont think anybody would be stupid to go that fast in the USA except on a track. I think he's driving in europe, in germany probally on the autobahn.

lol. it was in germany, when i picked up the car there summer of '04. its an S500 i've had overthere as my travel car for the past 3 years. I used to go back & forth, spending 3-4 weeks at a time on business trips there 6 times a year.

its hard getting up to 150mph in the states - most "americans" don't understand the concept of the left lane being the passing lane, NOT the hangout at speed limit or below lane. only times you could actually hit that speed, if your willing to go to jail if you're cought - is late at night/early in the AM.
