Hey everyone,
Some people already know, some don't. For those that don't know, I've recently acquired a new car but it's not a BMW. It's no longer worthwhile to hunt a certain turkey5 anymore. Time for bigger fish, ahem EuroCarFan and snikt21.

So, some may wonder why did I go from a BMW to a Mercedes? Well, let's just say I had to scratch my Mercedes itch. Of course, only a AMG model would suffice.

I will say this, the 545i has BETTER handling and steering feedback than the E63. For that matter, any e60 has better handling and steering feedback. That's okay, the E63 is ridiculously fast. The pull of the E63 is endless as it shifts from gear to gear. My nickname for the E63 is the "cruise missile." I've never driven the E55, but I've heard the steering is much better in the E63. Still it's not up to BMW standards.

EuroCarFan and I are trying to coordinate the logistics of a time and place where we can do our own review of the two adversaries. We've selected the place and time, now it's just a matter of when. My opinion is from 0 - 100, essentially a 1/4 mile, the E63 will prevail. From a rolling start 60 - limiter, the gearing of the M5 will win. It's my belief that the gearing of the 7speed SMG is superior to the AMG 7speed. In conclusion, even though I may have a Mercedes Benz, my heart still beats/bleeds BMW blue and white. I'm hoping I can pickup a 135 or 335 in the near future.

BTW, I will be crashing all Norcal/Socal meets in the E63. I already am with the CCH. For those that might not know what CCH is, it's a re-occurring e60 mini-meet at the Cajun Crab House (CCH) in San Jose. Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking it through the twisties. BoBoB and I will be coordinating an Angelus Crest Meet hopefully in November.

It's funny, I have that same Mercedes itch that has yet to be scratched. There has always been a soft place in my heart for the E55 and now the E63. I love the car man....those wheels are perfect.

Yes the E63 is a beast, no doubt.

I see you are considering a 135i or 335i in the future, more tossable packages.

Have you thought about the upcoming C63, reviews have said it has closed the gap to the M3 and has crisper steering. Also with 451 hp/443 lb-ft it will move.

VT, the e63 amg looks sick. are you going to do exhaust, headers, gear differential, and pulley?

but i prefer your old 545i more tho, especially now with the additional changes Darwin did. the ACS splitters and new wheels look great!
