my first sighting of an audi r8 (in NYC)

Yesterday on First Ave. and 71st Street, I saw parked behind a lovely maroon convertible Porsche C4, an Audi r8. It seemed so small that at first I thought it was a new TT. Then I saw the r8 badge. It has two carbon fiber(?) panels on the rear quarter panels that look like patches on a pair of Levis. What a strange look it has, especially for close to $150,000. I think given the opportunity, I'd pick up a low mileage M5 for daily use and a Nissan GTr for the weekends at roughly the same cost. The r8 was gray and the panels were one shade lighter which made it even more bizarre. The interior, I must admit, was pretty neatly outfitted.

I saw two the same weekend in Monaco (no surprise) back in November. It is a beautiful exhaust note. Have only seen them at dealerships in the US so far.

I saw one going down 41 the other night. I tried to race him a little 
but it was some old guy who was going 5 under limit of course.
