Just received the following from MB today:
"Your iPod. Your Mercedes-Benz.
The songs you love to hear in the vehicle you love to drive ? we've made it easy with the accessory iPod interface kit, designed exclusively for Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
Just dock your iPod and the in-dash display shows the artist and song title playing.1 Plus, from the multifunction steering wheel, you can select songs from your iPod's playlists, as well as control the volume, fast-forward, rewind, and pause functions. Your iPod even charges while connected.
Select Model Year 2005 and newer Mercedes-Benz models2 offer full integration with your audio system, as well as the multifunction steering wheel and instrument-cluster display.
No other integration solution lets you "see what you're hearing" with such ease. "
I wish I could integrate iPOD's like that into my e60.

C'mon though! This has to be one of the most sought after features in the showroom! Whats their excuse for not having it yet? Working out bugs! Rubbish. How hard can it be to program this stuff? Just because XYZ now works doesnt mean we need to loose running lights, and that RDS wont work with NAV or something silly. No excuses really for not having it ready.

[/quote]Your right - there may be 100 other mp3 players - but why make something for 1 of the other MP3 players that wont sell 1/4 what iPod does? And how many Non - ipods have a decent serial interface making it easy to integrate with displays / steering wheels etc? Not a huge amount.
