BMW M5: 500 bhp (373 kw) @ 7750 rpm / 383 lb-ft (520 Nm) @ 6100 rpm

Mercedes Benz CL65 AMG: 612 bhp (450kW) @ 4000 rpm / 738 lb-ft (1000 Nm) @ 2000 - 4000 rpm

Nissan GTR: 480 bhp (353 kw) @ 6800 rpm / 430 lb-ft (588 Nm) @ 3200 - 5200 rpm
But independant dyno testing shows much higher figures. BHP closer to 550+ and torque is closer 500+ lb-ft!

Now you know why the M5 lost. It's the least powerful of the 3... No need for the M5 to be embarrassed!

I think the M5 is a totally different car, I mean the obvious is that its a sedan. I think it would be more resonable to put the M6 against those 2 cars, and the M6 would fair better then the M5.

You have to keep in mind, the shape of a car doesn't change it's dynamics by much. The 6 series is based on the 5 series. Moreover, the M6 is only slightly lighter than the M5. Moreover, the bhp and torque figures are the same. Compared to the GT-R and the MB CL65 AMG, both the M5 and M6 are down on power. That's the reason why it lost. Look at the bhp and torque figures of the CL65 and GT-R. The gap in bhp and torque is substantial. The M6 would have fallen to a similar fate. On a track, the story would change slightly. The GT-R would still win, but the M5 would come in second, and the pig of car, CL65 would come in dead last!

you tube guys, that is just amateur stuff.
check the laptimes in EVO magazine, all the test guys own either Zondas or Enzos.
M6 is way ahead of the M5, CL has crap times,
well GTR is a nissan on steriods, it will be another deathtrap for youngsters and i am interested to see its reliability V Porsche or M5 in the long term.
i thought there was a improved bhp M5 out later this year??

sorry I wasn't implying that the M6 would win but that it would do a little better then the M5 did.

I'm not implying that you are wrong. Test data shows that the M6 is slightly faster than the M5. Ever so slightly.
