1)Lane Departure warning system
2) rear active steering

Oh boy! I wonder what will be the answer from BMW_e60 to the infiniti M.

I wouldn't want to see either of these on any BMW. You should also know that Infiniti was not the first to provide either a lane departure system (Volvo did this several years ago) or rear "active" steering (Honda was the first to put 4 wheel steering in a passenger car).

It is doubtful that BMW will do anything to the e60 in response to Infiniti -- BMW, the market leader, does not react or respond to one of the least significant participants in the premium auto market (Infiniti is a non-player in the e60 market; well behind Audi, Jaguar, etc.). In particular, the M has been one of the worse selling Infiniti models (perhaps only the Q is worse) for years.

I have an 03 G35 sedan(For SALE) that i love dearly, it is a better performance car than my 05 530I However, it just doesn't have the feel of the BMW. Before I got my 530Ii was set on the 06 M, i drove both the m35 and M45. I have to say the Infiniti is one NICE ride!

The reason why I choose the E60 is because the looks. The M is a copy cat in the exterior design and it doesn't look nearly as sharp.

you certainly get a lot more for the money with the M. much more standard features, more rear leg room, rear tv, better nav, better stereo, and much much more car for the money. The power and handling of the sport V6 models will blow away the 530i sport. The V8 with more hp and lighter should be faster than a 6 speed 545 sport.

However, the Japanese quality over time will not stand up to the abuse of the german counter part.

Motor trend just picked the non sport m35 over the sport 6 speed 530I!

We'll see if the free advertising from Motor Trend will help M35 sales in any way (if Infiniti were an American manufacturer, Motor Trend's free advertising would greatly help as it has created record sales for the Chrysler 300).

I have not seen actual performance tests of either the M45 or the M35 against the latest 530i with the R6 engine or the 545i, but I seriously doubt that either e60 will be "blown away" by the Infiniti M.

Call a spade a spade -- the Infiniti M is nothing more than a cheaper imitation of the e60....
