So are you still secretly lusting after that new GT-R? Maybe not after reading this.

Edmund's Inside Line have their very own example as a long term test car.

By all accounts this is one incredibly fast car, but it is also proving to be incredibly unreliable vehicle as well. Just cruising through the blog you can see it has been in the shop several times with one visit resulting in a complete drivetrain removal! The end result is a supercar that is in the shop almost as long as it is out of the shop. What a shocker!

Yes but by this judgement so does a Ferrari...thinking of how much you have to baby a supercar and take it to the shop very often etc...

But seriously now...wow. So much for the Japan reliability huh?!

I don't regard the GTR as a "supercar" or even in the Ferrari league. The GTR is more along the lines of a Corvette, Viper, or even the NSX of old. A supercar is a Veyron, Koniggsegg, MacLaren F1, etc...

Well there's your problem....it's missing the entire rear axle and exhaust system!! How well could it perform without them??

It's probably the Porsche and Ferrari owners trashing the hell out of the cars to get it bad press. Beside, they can easily afford some of the half the cost for about the same performance as a gt2.

The GT-R is not a supercar but has a supercar performance. You'll quite hating . . .

I'm really surprised this car has had so many issues.

A reminder that incredible performance requires incredible engineering. A top of the line "Halo" model that can't last more then 6 months without major drive train issues is going to give Nissan a black eye...
