My Ride: BMW 528i
Lexus LS460
Lexus GX470
Lexus RX300 Silversport
In the local newspaper a couple years back they did a study about insurance rates for exotics like Ferraris, Lambos, etc. For the same scenario as the one above, they said that those exotics could reach about $23,000 in insurance premiums, and some could have mileage restrictions of about 10,000 miles a year! 
They also say that a lot of people get denied with getting their exotic insured. I remember there was a used Gallardo for sale at the exotic place here in town, and they said that the current owner of it had to sell it right after he bought it because he could not get it insure under his name!

it costs more than 5000 US $ a year to insure a 550i here in Pakistan...

I am always shocked at how much more expensive it is to buy and keep a car in countries outside of the United States.
