Question: Where exactly were you educated? You spell like a complete idiot. Your auto industry insider views seem tremendously insightful and extraordinarily invaluable. Reading you prior posts has instilled lots of confidence in doing business with someone like yourself. Run along now...Vinnie! Your probation officer ought to be calling to check in soon...

the GTR IMO is an awesome car, but come on at the end of the day it is just a really fast nissan just like a viper is just a really fast dodge. the 911 is arguably the most iconic sports car ever built. Hardly an apples to apples comparison no matter what the numbers say.

The current issue (July) of Car and Driver did a comparison test of the BMW M3, Porsche 911 Turbo and the Nissan GT-R. The M3 finished first, Nissan second and Porsche third.

really... i didnt see that... lol... we all know that the bimmer is ni joke by any means... but a side by side test will show the GTR is faster have better handeling.... lQQks now thats something diffrent....IMO the m3 is a much better lQQkin car... but the numbers are what im lQQking at.... the porsche third?????? some body payed big money for that issue????(BMW).......

They did consider the performance of each car, but it wasn't their only criteria. The 911 turbo had the fastest 0-30, 0-60, 0-140 and the fastest 1/4 mile. It also had the best 70-0 braking and skidpad numbers. Also surprising the 911 turbo had the best gas mileage.
You should pick up the latest issue, it is an interesting article.
No question my choice would be the 911 Turbo.

The article wasn't just based on numbers.

If the GTR is being marked up tens of thousands of dollars, then as you wrote, the 911T might be a better buy.
I have seen older Skylines sold for $60k plus, but that's probably due to the car never being imported here. I would have to expect the GTR wouldn't hold it's value like the older ones. It's a moot point for me, as I can't afford either. If I could, a lime green GT3-RS would be sitting in my garage right now.
I'm gonna go see if I can dig up the C&D article online.
