The Dodge Charger seems faster than the 5er at the 1/4 trap. Znod, are you in the "no replacement for displacement" camp? Just though I ask. Maybe your in the middle since you still have that RX-7.
Hi B32:

I am not sure what you are asking. Below are the charger numbers. And, I agree that the Charger appears trap faster--although given the other numbers it looks too fast. I'll check my source on this one to manana. And, I don't understand about the "camp" and me maybe bein "in the middle." me here.

Dodge Charger R/T MT 8/05 5.9 14.1 107.1
Dodge Charger R/T R&T 1/06 5.9 14.3
Replacements or mods like turbo and superchargers on those tiny (usually Japanese) engines compared to the large displacement (engine) on the Vette, Mustanges, Chargers, etc? There seems to be rivals of replacement camp versus the displacement camp.
I see. The confusion was mine. I was connecting too may dots. Anyway, I am number 1 displacement guy, number to a supercharger guy, number 3 a turbo guy, and number 4 a nitrous guy. I love an enigne like the Z06--especially the new one. I like superchargers because I don't like turbo lag--although it is minimal on some cars. So, turbos can be OK. I don't like nitrous because I like a car to make its HP mechanically. There is no good reason for my anit-nitrous bias; it is truly a bias since nitrous works well, is inexpensive, and does the same thing as SCs and turbos--increases the amount of fuel in the combustion chamber.

Audi TT 3.2 Quattro C&D 4/04 5.9 13.3
That 1/4-mile time doesn't seem to match that 60mph time. The TT must have a very agressive 3rd and 4th gear ratio to make up some ground in a quarter-mile sprint. I also wonder what the trap speed is.

Thanks for the stats, Don.
Good eye. It should have been 14.3. I corrected it.

I'm a geek when it comes to statistics. Boy, my professor would be proud of me.
Absolutely.

The Charger trap should have been 101.9 not 107.1. I fixed it. Thanks.

hmmm....I don't think we get the FQ 340 or 430 in the US.
We only get the 276hp version which gets really slow at highway speeds...
Subarus STI...we only get the 300hp version and I have no idea what the spec C is, but the US Sti cannot match the 545-550 in highway speeds...

Znod, that Mitsu. Lancer Evo will give 545i/550i a ran for the money.
Right, but this data base has only to do with 14 sec. cars--with one tiny exception--the Lexus IS 350. Check the topic title and my replies to ipse d and 700700 Do you have data on any cars consistent with the criteria for this data base that I have missed? Unless I missed one or more, I included everything in the big three US mag road-test summaries. And, while not stated, I am including only cars available in the US.

The Evo IX can be ordered in the US from a reliable importer

i did not know it was US only.

The Subaru Impreza STI Spec C racer FYI, is a carbon lightweight (1250kg), with a jun 2.5 stroker engine producing around 380 horse power,
it accelerates from 0-60 in 3.7seconds does 0-62 in 3.9 seconds and does the 1/4 mile
in under 12.5
