E60 vs. M35/M45

The Canon 350 is a great camera.... I think the big difference between the 350 and the 20D is the better quality at higher ISO's for the 20D, and the frames per second. I do a lot of sport fishing photography, so I need the speed of the 20D....

I may get flamed for this but here it goes... BMW has much higher "Prestige" points vs the Infiniti. Meaning most people don't go wow, it's an Infiniti, but most people go wow, it's a BMW or WOW it's a Mercedes!
Sometimes that can factor in who purchases what. Granted the Infiniti M45 does look A LOT better on paper than the E60.

Reputations take a long time to build, and a long time to lose. Mercedes is still seen as a premium and aspirational brand despite their recent quality issues, and people think VW build reliable cars despite their JD Power reliability placing which is well below average. The point of my post? Infiniti (and I speak as a former two time owner) has not yet earned their reputation in the top flight and are not seen in the same class as the Big 3 (BMW, MB, Lexus) and it will take time, and more good cars, before they get to that point. That hits their image, prestige and also residuals - all strong points for the Big 3, and very important to anyone dropping 50 large or more on their car. I agree with Tomwid's post on this.

I actually think the M35/45 looks like the e60 from afar. And I'm not talking about in pictures. Have you ever seen one drive by in the other direction (oncoming traffic)? The darn thing looks like a 5 series until it gets to about 25-30 meters away.
It's definitely the front spoiler that does it.

My two cents worth as an architect and car enthusiast. Infinity stole the BMW profile and Hofmeister Kink from BMW. The M35/45 dash is a confused piece of sh1t. The BMW 5er purchased using European Delivery is much better value than the M35/45.
