Price factored in, which I think is implied by your question, I might buy any of them depending on what's out and how much what's out costs. My overall preference would be for an AMG above the level of the C55. If I found the AMG alternative I favored to be too pricey, then I would opt for one of the others--assuming performance above the C55 level.

Ya the E 500 was more costly than the E60... so that also gave me a better excuse to get the 545 instead.

Right, the 545i isn't above the C55 in straight-line performance. So, if choosing now, I would get a 550i before the current C55, assuming its performance has not improved significantly, since I like the E60 styling better than that of the C55. But, in answering the above question, I was not given the option of selecting a BMW.
