The CCXR weighs appr. 800kg less than the Veyron.................. lets see now.... do I want a sports car or a missile???

I think these two cars a very different. Just as you say, the Veyron is a super comfy cruise missile.
The Koenigsegg, on the other hand, is a race car in road disguise.
As always - a matter ot taste, and ofcourse MONEY! The Bug costs twice that of the Egg!?

+1 for green
I see bugatti as a compromise compared to the CCXR.
Sorry but if you're gonna spend that much amount of cash on a hyper car you may very well make it worth it. I don't see a hyper car as a comfy car and that's not the definition in my book. If they (Bugatti) threw extra comfort at the expense of performance (which may have been very well boosted) then they made a compromise. They compromised the potential of the beast with comfort. Undoubtly the result of performance was mindblowing for any human being but an even bigger impact it would have a CCXR which not only looks better but also has the WOW factor bigger. And it also feels like a race car i'm sure) because of the lightweight body and the racing pedigree.
If you are already into the hyper car market might as well go bunkers and get the CCXR and with the money saved get a Merc S 9000 AMG and tune it up a bit to have the highway missle also with proper comfort and gadgets. And an SUV and that's all )

I disagree that you should have to give up comfort just because you want a super car, and so did Ettore Bugatti, which is why all of his cars were created this way. I'm sure the Bugatti still feels like a race car, probably moreso than the Koenigsegg based on all of the specs. It can after all outperform it. And to me the Bugatti has an even bigger WOW factor since you could drive it all day and not be unbelievable sore after getting out of it.
I'm not sure if you can say that the Bugatti's potential has been compromised though. If you reduced the weight of the Bugatti it would probably go air born, or you would just spin your tires all day long. The advantage to it weighing so much and still being able to perform so well is that now you could have two heavy people sit in the car and it would still perform just as well since the overall weight wouldn't increase very much. Whereas if you did the same thing with the Koenigsegg you would see a vast decrease in its performance.
Overall, I think these two cars are just two very different approaches to the same goal, and I honestly love both of them. They have both met the goal beautifully, but if I had to choose, I would go with the one that still performs and feels the same, if not better, and is more comfortable to drive on an everyday basis.

The Veyron is truly impressive as it is the only car that combines ultra luxury and speed with no direct competitors that I know of. I would use it as daily transportation if I were a billionaire.
Enzo buyers know there will be a faster version in a couple years (288GTO, F40, F50, Enzo etc.) but the Veyron may well represent the ultimate in speed/luxury for many years, much like the McLaren F1 represents the best in speed/practicality even after 10+ years.
