hey, at least we will get more torque and hp. hopefully the performance/handling wont go down

This has been in the news for a while - and the "closer ties" are only focused on collaboration on specific issues (which happens already) and platform sharing (which doesn't)...

right.

it seems that bmw and mb are only teaming up for certain technologies, especially hybrids and perhaps meeting stricter government regulations. since neither of them have that much experience in hybrids, its like two unlikely rivals teaming up only to battle a new threat (i.e. toyota and its success in hybrids).

bmw and mb will still be very competitive against each other in their flagship and their headline-grabbing products - its not like amg and m are teaming up...that'd be nuts
