I found a most interesting read over on MBWorld.org today. Here is the thread that some AMG owners are discussing about AMG declaring the horsepower war over. If you don't want to bother reading what the AMG owners have to say here is the direct link to the article.

All AMG has ever been about was straight line acceleration. Now that they decided that 500+ horses is enough, they're going to concentrate on other areas such as interior/exterior and handling. Well, the interior and exterior are subjective but they have a long way to go to match BMW in the handling department. Yes, I know that the CLK BS 63 is supposedly a better handling car than the new M3 but I think that's just an aberration.

I'm looking forward to the BMW TTV8 or the F10 M5 in three years.

Here's an idea......let me have the E63 and you can borrow my E60. We can swap back and forth every other month!

Seriously though, I'm just starting to get smitten with MB's for the first time in my life. I've been drooling over the E63 and S63 models...wondering very hard about switching over in 20 months when my lease is up.

Have you posted reviews of your thoughts on the E63 on this site? I havent looked, but would love to read what an enthusiast owner thinks...

I am glad to see they are going to improve handling and the rest of the ?overall package.?

I guess if you want HP, the new RS6 is your best bet. Audi states 580hp from their V10tt, but many say that is understated and it is well over 600hp.

Audi is so BLAH with the exception of the R8 in terms of exterior styling. They're a distant third behind BMW and MB.

I actually think the new Audi designs are some of the best in the luxury class.

New S5/A5, A4, R8, TT-S, RS6, all look amazing.

A6, A3 are the only bland Audi's.

You're right -- except you're missing one important detail -- the hood has to be popped open to allow for more forced air induction!

Rudy and poleposition are making reference to a thread over on bimmerfest how a partially opened hood has a ram air effect. Please do check it out. It will be worth your while.
