I agree this car is probably overpowered to do canyon carving. And yeah, it didn't beat the M3 in that stock to stock comparison but like the article said, in years past, they would have never ever thought of pitching the Stang against the M3 until now. I'm a euro car fan (duh) by heart but man, these American cars are making huge strides. Vette, CTS-V, now the Mustang. Great bang for the buck and awesome performance.

Very true, however, there's always something about them that nags at me and it became clear to me the other day.
I was driving home from work and I saw the physical representation of why I will NEVER buy an American car again: I was driving along side a new (sticker in window) CTS, and it had the WHOLE GOLD PKG!!!!! Gold mirror covers, gold trim, gold exhaust tips, even a gold grille. I threw up a little in my mouth and realized instantly that no matter the actual performance numbers it will always be the distant trailer park cousin to the 5er in the automotive world.

What's worse than that is seeing gold packages on 7 series.

I actually really like what Ford has been doing. The performance for the base mustangs is very impressive, 300HP and 30MPG. The GT is way underrated at 4XX horsepower, people are dynoing the cars much higher than Ford advertises.
