Behold the new 2011 Shelby GT500 Super Snake
SuperSnake

At $30k for the pkg and another $35k for the car, it seems (to me) to be a bargain at around $65-70k for an 800HP car

The article I read says 725hp, but Shelby's website says 800hp. The car is beautiful. The design of the grille reminds me of the old Shelby Cobra

That's for one of the packages, the first paragraph reads:
"Shelby American, a wholly owned subsidiary of Carroll Shelby International Inc. (CSBIK), will offer a Super Snake post title package for the 2011 Ford Shelby GT500 with new styling cues and an optional 800 horsepower tuned engine"

It's an American car, of course it can't go around corners, strictly 1/4 mile buddy

I don't know John. The latest issue of Motor Trend has a comparison between the 5.0 Mustang and the M3. Yes the M3; probably the best handling sports sedan on the market. I didn't read the whole article yet but it seems like even though the M3 won, it won only by a very small margin and they were raving about how good the Mustang actually handled. Gave the M3 a run for it's money.

Maybe Tony, but that's stock v stock. You think this 800HP version will be able to go around corners and lay that power down? Doubt it. It will turn out to maybe be a great drift car, but road racer? Unlikely. Besides, competitors have been gunning for the M3 for more than 20 years and still have yet to beat it, giving it a run for it's money is not the same as beating it.
