2008 Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG Black Series - Preview. This car has a real racing heritage, mechanically identical to cars that appear on Formula 1 Grand Prix racetracks every weekend (Safety Car). Since all AMG models are special editions, we?re talking about a special edition of a special edition. Car and Driver expects a 0-60 of 3.8 sec., very nice. The car just looks beautiful.

Yay. Good luck on getting your hands on one. I heard Mercedes is producing only a limited quantity. Serious beat down to a lot of exotics.
I must say i'm really impressed although i expect it to be very expensive. Overall very yay!
Later edit: After reading the article i'm a bit disappointed of this. With all the black marketing stuff and the carbon fiber abundance, the car is only 45 kilos lighter than the standard CLK 63, with a total mass of 1772 kilos. Combine this with a dissapointoing 475 bhp (for some special edition of a special edition), it's not that impressive. As i assume this model gains some points from the other stuff like the suspension, brakes, tires etc. But weight and power alone is not that impressive. M6 territory from those numbers alone and i expect this baby to reach the 200000 euros target. Now where's that M6 CSL?

This car would kick serious a$$ if that 'detuned' 6.2L (it's not truly a 6.3) could put out the full 512 bhp like the CLS63. But this Benz like all other MBs since Chrysler became part of the company in 98 don't give me that sensation of being spoiled and unworthy of sitting inside of one ... like the mid-90s S-class and 1st generation C-class did. Those were true bona fide, quality Benzes. However, I'd be a Benz fan all over again the day I see a clutch pedal in an AMG car! Daimler-Benz, you listening???

Oops ... I meant "Daimler-Chrysler"

Chrysler is no longer with Mercedes, they got bought out by Cerebus.

I dont like the CLK that much to pay Bentley GT money for it just because it goes 0-60 really fast....

Wow, you don't like the looks of that car. Any benz's you do like? As for the Bentley, I like the Bentley Continental Flying Spur, its more rare to see. My neighbor 4 houses up has the GT, I see them all the time on the road.
Dont get me wrong, I respect the car and it looks nice but at the same time its 120k+ and at the end of the day its a CLK. If I saw a GT everyday id get tired of it too for sure. Hell for that CLK63 Black Series money you can get a used Gallardo instead. Or even a nice used DB9.
The mercs I do like is the new CL and S. CLS is nice too but its in the E60 bracket so not much different.
