I've read all the replies on the acura forum, and i somwhat agree with the non-optioned bimmer is just a car.
but still, all other things are same as the optioned one. that means,, it's still a bimmer. i've had both tsx and 525i
and i can't erase the light-feeling of tsx.. not saying it's bad.. options were on the tsx was awesome but feels little bit scary when i hit the high speed.
it just feel so light. in my case, options are not the reason why i choose bimmer. i just wanted to see what the europeans cars are like.
anyway, there is a downside for the 525 too. the price, performance with 2.5l engine(sports package is a must if you are driving fast), and more..but
I personally think there is a gap between tsx and 525i. there is just something with bimmer.. am i too biased
the higher horsepower does not mean a better car, and better optioned car does not mean a better car. i know you all agree with that.
just find a car that fits you, and you will be happy. just give it a try on both cars . they both are awesome

My co-worker has a TSX...Its not a bad car at all, the ride is pretty comfortable and has just enough power. Although given the option I would still have gotten my 5 series. They are two completely different classes of cars. Its really hard to compare the two...The TL is more on par with a 3 series, and the RL is on the same level as the 5 series.
Oh and another thing...the price of gas is going up and if that will pose a problem...get the TSX

they're very different cars and not really competitors at all but both the 04 525 and 06 TSX could be great buys assuming you don't need all the space and amenities on offer in the E60. If you need the extra space the 525 has a pretty clear advantage, if not the TSX will be utterly reliable too and like any Acura/Honda it's well engineered and driver oriented (taken as a given with the 525). I've always felt Acura/Honda is the Japanese company closest in philosophy to BMW.

I have tons of friends who own Acuras. They are very good cars and run for a very long time. The only problem is a TSX is just like a nice Civic or something. You can't really compare the two cars. I would actually buy a TSX if i needed a daily driver.. but for the pure joy of driving.. you can't beat a BMW. I actually have a 04 525 and had many problems with it (new tranny, passenger restraint warning, creaky doors, ect.). At the end of the day I would buy the 525i AGAIN. I still get a smile every time I drive.
