I had problems with the XDA II to connect to many BT devices. You need to update the BT stack on the XDA II. Try this forum and they can give you a link to a third party BT stack update:

I've tried the XDA IIs and although it pairs fine and I can make and receive calls, it does not upload contacts.
I've tried the XDA Atom (similar to Dopod 818, I-mate JamIn, Qtek S200, XDA neo) and it will upload the contacts. This is an Atom that was purchased 2 weeks ago.
