I am soooooo pissed.? I took my car in this morning, and apparently I JUST missed the cutoff for Bluetooth.? Nothing can be done.?

I'm so depressed.? I'm almost done with my first bottle of wine, and am about to open a second.

Guess I'll have to a) call Mr. Belk and humbly ask for him to sell me his cpt9000, or b) stand on the street corner enough to beg for enough change to order a 2005 model, or c) (gulp) maybe look at the Acura of the Lexus products

Man oh man, I'm so dissappointed that the stuff I bought this car for doesn't work (SAT, MP3, and Bluetooth).

Bummer,

james

I'm Selling my gently used CPT9000 (Sprint model) in a couple of weeks. $500 seem fair?

Sprint's what I'm looking for, so that would be great. Mr. Belk is local, and I initially asked him about his. Let me call him today and see what carrier he's on, and what he wants for it.

I'll PM you later, thanks!

It seems the Bluetooth update for pre 03/04's CAN be performed... for a price.

See link.

X5 owners have been able to remove the TCU and replace it with a bluetooth only module. I have been told that the cost for this is considerably less than that of a new TCU. You would not have assist but bluetooth would work.

This has not been available to this point because the wiring is different. If someone can come up with an adaptor or a new unit that has the same wiring as the e60 then this might be a much cheaper solution for those of us with pre-3/04 e60s.

Has anyone else seen this as a possible solution?

Mine is a 10/03 build. I have a bluetooth card. Why should anyone have to pay for this feature and why should we have to give up Assist (which was paid for) if we do get it? Lawsuit anyone?

I'm depressed too since mine is 02/04 build...no BT without a new TCU. :'( The strange thing is the old idrive (version 11?) used to display Phone feature that actually allows me th dial numbers. But after the reprogramming (recall #04E-A02). it became disabled. Darn software updates...

I'm with Jimbo on this one. It really pisses me off that after over a year of ownership I still can't have the options that where designed in the car. I know BMW has been working on them, but please the goverment moves faster then that!!!

I would be really frustrated too. BUT since BMW has never promised BT on MY2004 E60s I think you are wasting your energy getting frustrated. Install a CPT9000. I know its expensive, but that is all they promised for MY2004. Buy an aftermarket BT kit from Eiskits or one other company, can't remember their name or the url.

The other option if you have the cash is to order a NAV retrofit. That will give you the newer CCC computer, voice commands and BT capability, which they will probably throw in for you.
