Will BMW solve BT for pre03/2004 prod?
#1
I wonder if BMW will eventually solve pre-March 2004 E60s to have bluetooth installed without having to pay large sums of money to have BT solved in their cars... those with February productions must be very heartbroken...
What do you guys think? :'(

I am a Feb 04 build. Still waiting for something to happen but I've really lost all hope. Just another screwing by Bring Your Wallet

How do you know if you have Bluetooth?
Is it just from the Menu in idrive.
I seem to have it. I can connect with various phones (I see a bluetooth connect on both sides after I've added the mutual code), but nothing ever happens after that.
Am I missing a software update or has the actual hardware changed (I have a 2003 build)?

How do you know?
Well, if you have a 05 model, then it's there, but may not be turned on. If you're prior to that (04 model), then it depends on your build date. They say March 04 and on can have it done. I'm at the dealership right now having them activate mine. Did you car come with a BlueTooth plastic card?

I am soooooo pissed. I took my car in this morning, and apparently I JUST missed the cutoff for Bluetooth. Nothing can be done.
I'm so depressed. I'm almost done with my first bottle of wine, and am about to open a second.
Guess I'll have to a) call Mr. Belk and humbly ask for him to sell me his cpt9000, or b) stand on the street corner enough to beg for enough change to order a 2005 model, or c) (gulp) maybe look at the Acura of the Lexus products
Man oh man, I'm so dissappointed that the stuff I bought this car for doesn't work (SAT, MP3, and Bluetooth).
Bummer,
james
