V710, 06 525. Got the phone to pair, but after shutting the car off, walking away, then returning, I had to pair them again by going into the phone and selecting the "bmw" as the device. What must I do so the car and phone pair as I walk up to it?

One thing I found was if my phone is on vibrate it will not pair up to the phone when I go in and out of the car. The ringer needs to be on.

The reason why you must "re-pair" the phone to your car is because by default the bluetooth setting on the v710 is set to off. To verify this is the case go to Menu -> Settings -> Connections -> Bluetooth Link -> Setup -> Power. It should say "Off." Change this to "On" and you will never have to pair again. As soon as you get into the car and turn on the engine, it will automatically "re-pair" to the v710.

I don't think you have to worry about getting hacked with the bluetooth always on. The security feature built into the v710 makes it difficult but not impossible. By design the v710 does not broadcast itself. You manually boadcast with the "Find Me" option. And there is the passcode as well. You have to enter the same passcode as the device wanting to connection with you.

I'm a newbie to bluetooth so if any of this information incorrect, please do correct me. I got all this information from playing around with my v710 continuously since Monday when I got the v710.
