Why Do I Sound Really Quiet?

What updated microphone? Do you have a part number? I too have had people tell me that I sound pretty bad when talking via BT. In terms of installation, I assume it would be as simple as unplugging the old one and plugging in the new one on the headliner there? Searching parts now...

Well -- I found the part #: 84316938762
I found that by looking at the newest 550 parts list. Then I looked back at the parts list the 545 of my build date 01/04 and it had the same part number listed for the mic.

I don't know about the parts, I just know that a long time ago, closer to the time I got my car, I complained of an echo where the caller could hear themselves. Supposedly, there was a bulletin on the issue (cobradav, where are you?) and an updated mic was installed.
I remember reading about others here who had the new mic installed too so I'm not sure why the part numbers are the same. Is it possible that sometimes an updated part is available under the same part number?

Ahh, I'll just mention this on my next service visit whenever that'll be and leave it at that. It's not too big of a problem since I don't use the phone in the car that often, however, I don't want to sound bad when I do!. I thought a newer mic was available which I could buy and pop-in on my own.

I'm hoping cobradav can see if there are any bulletins about this issue -- something tells me there was something about it a while ago...

Well Tuesday...... BMW is switching out my old Mic for the updated one. I'm hoping it does make a difference, I will report back on Tuesday evening. I hope this resolves my problems and certainly I will let this thread know the "final answer". Does the new mic work
