Okay Iceman, can you ask the BMW officials this

If you are not going to give the early adopters of your e60 a viable and affordable bluetooth solution, then how about opening up the built in cellular phone so that we can have it work thru our it is fully duplex and it completly intergrates with our idrive system.

Its our we paid for it so let us use its full potential, and if not then why not

I'm not sure what you're getting at. Is the CPT9000 no longer available? Or are you saying that the e60 should be made to work with a non bmw mobile phone? Please clarify for this clueless member. Thanks

What i am saying is that bmw assist is basiclly a duplex cell phone with hands free capability that is completly intergrated into idrive. Most of us at least i did had the capability of recieving anoynamous calls and dialing thru the idrive though it was directed to 911 until a update and the mechanics were instructed to turn it off as an option i assume. I did not ever have the v60 sinario hooked up and i could still do this. If Bmw would just open up the codeing for us to have our celluar providers to program we would be somewhat happy without bluetooth or at least i would

It would also be nice if Micrisift opens up the coding of Windows... Wouldn't it?
BMW put a lot of work in this. They will not open it up, so anyone can play around with it and see how they did it. It would also cause a lot of trouble, I bet.

True that Iceman, but there are alot of holes and back doors into microsoft. And they do improve and ask for help from what's called beta testers. I am not sure what alot of work into it you speak of but i am sure that most if not all is outsourced, and bmw assist is nothing more than a striped down version of onstar. I just think that we should be offered something as i am really not interested in the v60 and or cpt9000 sinerio based on the fact that they are antiquated phones. But if this is the only solution that we have then price cut the phones and eject kits to a resonable amount and we may bite on this also

Someone managed to get BT retrofitted with BMWNA, the dealer and the customer splitting the cost 3 ways. The customer ended up paying $700 and got a post 03/04 TCU and Bluetooth.

I found the post
