This is something that I made frome a couple of different kits but it works quite well for me. I am on my phone quite often (answerng calls, checking voicemail, yelling at my staff, etc..). I find that this works very well. It uses the same belt clip as I wear on my belt (duh!). I like the positioning of it as well.
Anyway... Here it is.

Remember quite a few months ago, I asked you to find the details on how to remove the console trim? Turns out after I did all that, I RTFM and realized that I needed to take apart the Dash trim. Oh well. End result, it came out good.
I'll get some pics tomorrow if I get a chance.
I used a mounting bracket (from Bimmian if I remember correctly), some universal PDA mount and a quick-release bracket which I Dremeled the hell out of and screwed the whole shooting match together.
Now I just unclip it from my belt and slice it onto the bracket and I;m good to go. Visabilility and control of the phone is great.

Hey Rudy,
I finally got around to taking some pics for you.
It's a little bit of a hack job (but is quite good for me )

I certainly have a better understanding of what you did now. Thanks for taking the time to show us!
I guess I'm left with one more question though -- how did you mount the bracket in the first picture to the car? What kind of bracket is it?
No big deal if you don't have time to take pics, etc., again. Don't go to any trouble just for me...

Hey Rudy,
No trouble at all... although I'm not going to take the dash apart again for you.
If I remember correctly, the bracket was bought through Bimmian.com.
It mounts to an existing screw but you need to take the front of the dash apart to get to it.
It makes a nice clean install.
I then took the "universal" pda holder that came with it and cut the front pieces off of it leaving the flat panel. I then screwed a quick release cell hone clip (after I cut that in half) to the flat panel.
Then I bought the Treo quick release holder as you see. Now when I get to my car I just slide it off of my belt and place it in the car. The angle is great. It is quite visable and easy to use. I'll typically plug in my car charger as well and I am good to go.
I hope that helps.
