Time measurement to connect your phone
#1
Hi,
Just trying to get a sense from fellow forum members on how long it takes to connect your phone to idrive via bluetooth.
This is ASSUMING you have already paired the phone - just wondering how long it takes from the moment the key is inserted to when the phone connects...
Mine is a MotoVx and a BB Curve. Both take 70 seconds.

Almost instantly. Definitely under 10 seconds, maybe under 5?

Both answers are right depending on what you mean by "connect". The Bluetooth pairing is almost instant, however the phone book may take a while to display, depending on how many contacts you have.
Also, some phones use the Bluetooth SyncML profile, which synchronizes the existing data AFTER it displays. Other phones use the Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP) which rebuilds the data each time you reconnect the paired device.

Instantly provided the phone is on. If I am on the phone talking it takes about 8 to 10 seconds after the car starts includeing the moment of silance, to facilitate the switch. If the phone is off and I start it up while in the car with it running as soon as the phone boots up and sends out it's signal, also note the only time I have had any phone book issues was on the initial pairing.

I use a Nokia 3600 slide. It takes maybe 5- 10 seconds; I rarely notice a delay.
The first time I paired it, it took some time to upload the address book, perhaps three to four minutes. The address book contained about 450 entires.

~5-10 seconds for my phone to pair/connect. A bit longer for the AB to load, ~30 sec to 1 minute (400+ contacts).
