My 545I has build date 07/2004. Dealer thought I would need new TCU to install bluetooth, price for part was $470.00 plus 2 hours estimate to program.
Went down yesterday to have done, unit in car turned out to be bluetooth compatible. So paid for 2 hours programming, and my Samsung M510 paired up no problem, phone book and all.
Very pleasant surprise!

Hi, Guys.
So I have a 2004 545 2-04 build date - hence, no BT capability.
Just bought a new TCU with BT Functionality from Gary at NP BMW.
Only cost me $380.00!
Part #84109122662
He said they used to cost $1200 or so, but have come waaay down!
Anyways, anybody done this swap and knows how much re-programming will cost me to get this new TCU up and going with BT?
Gary said it shouldn't take more than an hour at any dealership.
Your thoughts?

I just got my 04 525 and would like to get my BT working. I'm not sure on the month it was built though.
