There is an on-screen keypad you can use via iDrive. Depending on what software version you have, it'll either be at the bottom of the screen you see during an active call or you'll have to press the iDrive controller down to bring up a menu where you can select "keypad"...

some phones have a delayed dialing option for this very purpose. So the phone will dial the phone number, then 5-10 seconds later it will input the next set of numbers. Check your phone manual to see if your device has this option.

Normally if you insert the 'p' inbetween the number and the pin that should give it about a 3-4 sec Pause. However the issue I have is although this feature works fine on the phone the BMW BT phonebook only reads the number before the 'p' and so will not dial the pin. This issue did not affect my Nokia phone and only affect the WM5 phone that I use.

On a BlackBerry, pauses inserted into the dialing string work perfectly when dialing from the car's interface. Many years ago, on the CPT-9000 (V60) phone, a pause entered on the phone translated to a number '7' on the car because that's how the letter translates on the alphabetical telephone keypad...
