Its true! Missed call indicator!

I thought it was telling us that the phonebook transfered successfully from the phone, but it went away when I cleared my 'missed calls'!!!

Cool! Thanks guys!

Pic of my indicator, and incredible fuel economy....

So if the phone is for missed calls whats the triangle for? Usually it indicates Roaming... but I'm not roaming... I have a Nation Wide coverage with T-Mobile and I never get that on the phone itself... but I see it on the iDrive

Actually I figured it out myself while testing the call wait feature after my CIP 16.1 upgrade. That would be really awsome and I am sure they will fix it in the near future. The new BT2 phones are coming out later in the year and if BMW keeps working on this we will probably be able to use the phone steering wheel button to initiate conference calls and toggle between two waiting calls.

I'm not doubting that you figured it out Hormazd. My point was simply that the answer was already here in this wonderful fountain of knowledge called E60.net...

I've only seen the icon in the last week or so; yes it is the 'missed call' icon, but as already said, it will only work if you have a missed call when I drive is turned on i.e. driving. I sometimes leave my phone in the car (in the BT cradle in the armrest) and then I get no notification that I had a missed call when i get back in the car. Unless I lift the armrest and have a look It would be great if it did this

I have read all the posts and I still have not found out the answer--what does the triangle mean? I have T-mobile. I have never gotten the telephone icon, just the triangle and it remains whether I am using the phone or not. If i turn off the bluetooth from the phone it disappears. Thanks

Actually numerous posts on the forum, answer your question. T-Mobile shares its network with other GSM providers like Cingular and ATT. Even though your plan says you are not roaming and your handset is programmed not to show it, your car recognizes that you have jumped to a partner carrier's cell site.

I disagree with this because the triangle appears in my car whether I have the phone with me or not. It would appear before I switched to a bluetooth enabled phone. I thought it had to do with the car's GPS/shark fin.
