On my last Curve 8300, the Bluetooth in my 550i was picking up just the names of my contacts in my phonebook. On the 8900 the names are coming up with the work tag after them. For example: 8300.....Joe 8900.....Joe-work. I assume that the Bluetooth was reading off the SIM card on my last BB because just the names showed up. On this one I believe it's reading the device phonebook because both the name and the tag are coming up. The problem is that it's a lot more difficult for the car's voice commands to recognize a two word command then one. Is there any way I can change the settings to just read the name and not the tag??

Unfortunately, I don't think there's a way to do what you want.

I've always had a hard time getting voice command to accurately understand what number I'm asking for... :thumbsdown:

Like I said, it was fine with my BB 8300. With my 8900 it's not.

All I know is my 8700c and my 9000 show the extra contact info (work, home, etc.) and I do think it affects how well the name recognition works with voice command...

was your Curve on OS 4.5? Mine's done the same since I upgraded. I'm on a Pearl Flip now and it shows the stupid Work after all the names. Not to worry, the voice recognition still picks them up OK without you having to say the word "work".
