FYI - If you want to use the voice command feature of the car set up a "voice" address book internally on I-Drive.

After pressing the voice command button on the steering wheel say: "Save Name" and then follow the prompts.

To dial using voice command hit the v/c button then say: "Dial Name" and after I-Drive has confirmed the name say: "Yes" to dial.

To dial a number that's not in your address book press the v/c button then say: "Dial Number" and confirm by saying: "Dial."

Anytime you offer voice command a response that it doesn't understand it will respond with "feature not available." Often it has nothing to do with your phone...it's just not a very intuitive system. If at any point you don't know the command for an action on voice command after pressing the v/c button say: "help" and it will give you a list of available commands.
This is how things work in my non-Nav equipped car...

I have Sprint as my cell carrier and the only phone that I could get to work completely is the Samsung a920. You should have a 30 day trial period with Sprint that will enable you to switch your 900 to a 920. When I got the phone the store manager said a new blade was coming out this summer to address the bluetooth and poor battery issues.

Good luck.

OK, so after much research and haggling with Sprint customer service (the Sprint Store was no help at all) I just got a brand new A920 for $99. Not bad since I have only had my A900 for about 6 months and won't be really due for an upgrade for another year.

Good News:

A920 is a very nice looking phone - certainly fatter than the A900, but smaller in the other dimensions. Also, I forgot how much I liked having a phone on a belt clip rather than in my pocket. I never got used to fumbling around for it.

Phone paired perfectly first time.

Bad News:

 Can't get the phonebook to transfer. I get the "Please wait . . ." screen but nothing seems to happen even after around 5 minutes.

Did you get the phonebook to move over?? PLEASE let me know how you did it.

Thanks much.

NEVER MIND

Updated the phone software and all is well now.

Should have thought of it before, but you would think that a brand new phone would have the current software.

Phonebook transferred and it is holding its pairing. I finally have a bluetooth phone that works

Thanks

Never mind...my contacts were sent automatically. BTW, love the phone and don't have enough superlatives for it. Sanyo's UI is very straight-forward. I don't seem to have a problem with the battery as someone else did. However, I only receive a handful of calls/day. Highly recommended
