do you need a 13th gen ULF for other bmw cars?
i thought the e60 uses a module that has the bmw assist with it.
i got a quote from a US dealer for the 13th gen for $460 USD, this is from gary at newport bmw in the parts forum
i forgot the part number but you can get it at bimmernav.com

or you can look for a used one on ebay.com, don't think you absolutely needs the 13th gen. My 10th gen ULF in my wife's x5 works fine with the new iphone 3G.

not sure what ULF stands for, but it's referring to the bluetooth unit that is used in the older bmw models like the old X5, the previous 3 and 5 series, etc. I thought the new bluetooth unit also includes the module for BMW assist and it's made by Motorola. The ULF is made by a company called Visteon (something like that).

the bluetooth ULF is behind the trim on the LHS of the car in the boot.
