P990i pairs fine with my 535d E60 Dec 04 but I didn't found anyway to transfer phone book.
If someone, already existing in my phone book, calls me I see calling name and I can see in accepted calls or lost calls the name, but I cannot have phone book transferred.
I tried send via BT all phone book on BMWxxx, on phone screen appears 100% successfully done but nothing happens.
I never found a symbian based phone capable to transfer phone book.

Very strange that behavior, if pairing process gas been successfully trough iDrive communication number per number dialing you should be able to make phone call.

Very sorry , I just sold p990i and I didn't pay attention to FW release, but connecting trough Sony Ericsson PC Suite remote web site told me that no update necessary both on PC suite itself and, if I remember correct, on FW update.
I'm searching to try with a Win Mobile 5 smart phone such as HTC P3600, but I'm waiting that HTC officially unblock internal GPS receiver, rumors say in first half of march 07 .

Not true. Pairing has nothing to do with subsequent operation. I could find lots of mobiles that one could pair but would subsequently not do a thing.

You are surely right, but in my experience (about 30 different mobiles) never happened.
