I know that the P910i is not 100% compatible with my car but it's the only phone I have and nothing comes close to it in terms of the usage I have for the phone. Using bluetooth really drains any phone's battery and I was using an in car charger for a few weeks but I don't like hanging wires in the car when I drive.
What I missed was having a snap-in cradle for it and I knew BMW would never make one.
Out of desperation I built one myself using parts bought off ebay. i.e. an old T610 cradle and a P910i holder. See the results.

Hey Bruce
That looks really good, I fancy a motorola razr so I guess I could do the same as you and build a cradle.

I'm currently waiting on the K750i cradle which is due Mid April 06 in Germany, I'm going to take a gamble on it working.

Hi Bruce
Great mod and idea
Could you tell me what parts of the P910i are not compatible with the kit? I had the old P900 great business phone until recently and am now looking to upgrade to something with similar functionality
Regards
Dave.

1. No phone book displayed.
2. No signal strength etc.
3. WORST BUG : If your bluetooth on the phone is on when you enter the car you have the following issues. a. if you make an outgoing call first then you're fine. b. However if you receive a call then you can't accept it via the phone button on the steering wheel and if you take it via the phone it won't transfer to the car speakers. Phone and bluetooth go into almost a hung state.
If you switch the phones bluetooth after you are in the car then you dont have these issues.
I'm convinced that a lot of this is due to the smart things sony was trying to add to their phones and bluetooth and the call handling. I know that if I use a bluetooth headset the call automatically transfers to the device where I press the accept button i.e. phone or headset. Also even on a bluetooth headset the headset wouldn't connect to the phone unless their was some call activity. This behaviour is even when using both Sony products.
Over all Sony's implementation of bluetooth has been very patchy with the BMW. If you try writing to them they simply say we cannot speak for compatibility with non Sony products!
