Sharp GX-32 DOES NOT load phonebook

Hi all,
Well i just recently bought a Sharp GX-32 phone, which was purchased in Hong Kong. The problem is, I can't get the phonebook to load onto idrive menu. I've emailed my dealer and the technician there and they said that "the technology of your bluetooth is higher than bmw's software available".
My question is, if I had bought my car (06 525i) in Hong Kong equipped with bluetooth, would it be able to support my phone?
Any suggestions on what I should do at this point?
