Sept. 2003 e60 get Bluetooth retrofit?
I searched without getting a definitive answer, any help would be greatly appreciated. Has any member, with a Sept. 2003 production date, gotten a Bluetooth retrofit? Thanks in advance.

BT is retrofitable on your car, Juan, but it comes with a price: new TCU replacement and BT retrofit programming.
- New TCU is about $800 to $1500 or so depends on how nice your dealer is. Or you can call around for MY2005 TCU to see how much it would cost.
- BT retrofit programming costs about 2 hours of labor or about $250. Total costs would be $2000 max. Some one had his TCU fried by dealer during software update, and was replaced by dealer per dealer fault. Because his dealer is so nice, they don't charge him for BT retrofit programming.

Thanks folks - as always, very useful information. I think I will stick with my phone in the cradle. It interfaces with the idrive and works well with the voice commands. I leave the phone in the car and use a Blackberry. I just thought if it was an easy upgrade I would ditch the phone, oh well. Thanks again, you were all very helpful.
