It pairs alright and it also recognises the BMW bluetooth as a handsfree profile BUT..................

1. one gets "Headset Connection Lost" when call comes in or out.
2. phonebook dosen't transfer

this is despite my upgrading the phone's firmware to the latest abd I have CIP 16.2 :'(

Yes: My SonyEricsson P910a works well after 16.2 installed (didn't work up thru 15.3, only after recent upgrade to 16.2). The P910a is the same phone as the P910i, with use of a US-specific RF band. I'm able to make/receive calls, audio very good. Only the Phone Book is not being downloaded to the car, but that requires a different (OBEX) Bluetooth profile that apparently is still inconsistently implemented between my phone and my car. One small diff: I drive an E63, but it's the same E60 platform with 2 doors, right?

Nice to note that your P910a pairs well with your E63.

Since my effort to use (pairs ok, but can't call/receive ) the P910i is futile, my only conclusion is the CIP for E63 and E60 is quite different - hopefully the next s/w upgrade will solve the problem.

You might try the SE Support site to ensure that your phone is on the latest SW. From the site, you can update your phone's software (be sure to backup first, just in case). The P910i came out first and I have heard of new SW updates for it.

Yes, rduncan, my P910i has the latest s/w upgraded - in fact, I have a version later than that available on the SE support site (got it from local distributor who claimed that the site's may not always be the latest) - CXC 162042 R4D006; the SE site's stops at R4A10.

And.... still no go :'(

I have also a P910i with the latest sw R4A10 and a 645 with sw 16.2 and my phone still doesn't work well.
It seems even worst than it was with sw 14.X. It worked more times than now.
It pairs fine but sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.

The difference now is that it now shows a phone icon on the BMW screen (don't know what that means) and on the A-Z screen appears the message "Please wait" (don't know if it is trying to transfer the contacts list) before it didn't have any message on the A-Z screen, it was always empty.

Is there any difference if you have 1 or 4 phones paired?

Maybe I should delete the other 2 ( K700i and T630 ) that I have paired?

Olivin530i,

Yours is the same version that is available at SE site. You have to check in your phone the CDA section (CDA162005/5 R4A10), not the phone section. Some numbers change because operator implementation, language, etc. A good description can be found at
This ThreadPage

Anyway, I'm having problems as well. My P910 is absolutely erratic; I can't learn its behaviour. Sometimes it works fine (no phonebook, of course), sometimes it hangs when a call is received, or when I try to make one...
Very disappointing

I have a Motorola V525, and it works fine: receive, make, phonebook...
