RAZR: Manually enable BT on phone each time?
#1
I've been able to get my new RAZR V3 sync'ed to my '05 525i....but everytime I get in the car I have to manually go to the BT menu on the phone to allow it to connect to the car. My understanding is that the RAZR is supposed to automatically establish the BT connection when the car is started.
I've changed the settings on my phone so that BT is ON....but this still doesn't allow the car to connect automatically.
Any suggestions?
BTW:
I've happend across this forum in the past and it's been a very helpful source of information on my E60 -- a better source than the local dealership.
Thanks in advance,
J

Please go to your RAZR V3 BT setup. Go to BT setup and choose the device that your phone will connect to (E60 in this case) and choose auto or asking mode.

I realized later that I was doing the wrong thing by trying to connect manually everytime I enter the car, and that the BT is already ON even if you do not see a BT>> icon on the screen of the phone.
It works like a charm now, I just turned it on as my530i said above, and everything is working smoothly.
Good luck!
Hi, I am also keen on the Raza v3, i presume you don't have the docking cradle, I don't remember BMW has it for this model. I know the dock allows charging, beside that any other feature that will be missing out with the docking. Please advice. Thanks.

Docking allows two features.
(1) Phone charging
(2) To use the fin antennae of the car for better reception.
That's it (as far as I know).
I had the same problem when I got my V3 RAZR 2 weeks ago..

BT can be a battery killer on Motorola phones. I set up two shortcuts on mine, one to turn BT on and one to turn BT off. When I get into the car I activate the shortcut for BT on (just two keystrokes) and when I get out activate the shortcut for BT off (again just two keypresses). I used to leave BT on all the time and battery life was horrific - much better using the on/off shortcuts.

When I'm at home, my battery drains in a day. Away from my car, it lasts a couple of days.
Strange.
interesting, from what i've seen bluetooth can be real battery killer, especially on my original V551. Just switched over to the Razr so too early to tell if there's much imprtovement but fingers crossed.
