How do I know if my Razar phone when connected in the cradle is also connected to the outside antenna of the car? The phone does charge appropriately when plugged into the cradle.

I suppose you could compare the signal strength indicator with the phone in and out of the cradle. If you get a stronger signal in the cradle, then it's probably working...

In my opinion there is no connection to external antenna, because cradle is connected to phone only by mini USB connector .
V3 Razor has the external antenna connector in the back side under a small rubber tap and there is no connector in that position on the cradle.

The only possible exception to what I said could be a capacitive coupling between cradle and phone, but I strongly doubt about that possibility.

My own view on this is it works fine - there is an aerial (co-ax) cable that is positioned under the plastic surface; open up the cradle as if to place the phone in the cradle and look towards the hinged underside, you'll see the co-ax cable that provides a capacitive connection, I think!

If you really wish for technical confirmation you might wish to call the manfacturer who supplies the devices to BMW; they are Peiker acustic gmbh Co. If your'e in the USA their web-site lists an office in Irving Texas (Peiker acustic Inc.), for technical support tel. 877-691-8400 or 972-929-8811; or Peiker acustic gmbh Co in Germany (HQ) on 49-6172-7670.
