In a nutshell, my vehicle won't uplink data to BMW Assist. Recently I couldn't have my doors unlocked remotely by them 'cause the vehicle wouldn't communicate.

Previously I was in for this communication failure service and the SA did just what yours did. As he was taking my information, looked down and saw my Treo and said "that's your problem" He indicated that since my Treo was not officially compatible, it causes the TCU to act up. Okay, really.

I agree with you. This doesn't make since. It seems to me that BMW's computers should not be rendered useless because an owner has a phone other than the sparse few they consider compatible. That's not good.

Sorry about your problems, but it's refreshing to see others with this problem. If we make enough noise, we might get this thing fixed.

So did the car start to work again if the Treo was removed? What was the SA's explanation after it still didn't work?

My first trip to the dealer for this was in February when he mentioned the Treo. They kept the car for a couple of days and allegedly fixed it. It did work for a while. I could uplink service data to BMW.

Just the other day, I noticed it wasn't working again. Locked out of my car and trying to get them to remotely unlock my doors. I was still using my Treo (which pairs properly, etc.). My appointment is next week, but I have just ordered a BB Curve 8320. I was thinking about doing it anyway. So hopefully they won't say it was my Treo since I won't be using it when I go in to get it fixed. My phone (B
