Can anyone offer advive as to which Blackberry they prefer? And if it works well with there 5?
Do you prefer a slightly larger device with a full qwerty keyboard or do you prefer a smaller device that uses some artificial intelligence and a compressed keyboard to help you type?

In the BlackBerry world, that's the biggest "fork in the road". Pretty much any current model will work perfectly with the 5 so don't even worry about that -- just choose the device that suits your needs and preferences and you'll be good to go!

I really like my Curve (AT&T). I think it's the 8300 model but it is smaller that other BB's like my wife's model but still has the full keyboard. I tried things like the Pearl but did not care for that keyboard.

And Rudy is correct about the iPhone. While it is really a neat gadget, for business I'd get the BB. The iPhone doesn't have e-mail pushed to it, you basically need to go out through the internet and check your e-mail occasionally. We're still learning the iPhone but I think some mail services like Yahoo are starting to offer ways to push mail to the iPhone but we'll have to learn more about that.

So, the the Blackberry does sync with Outlook?! Weird, the girl at the store told me that it didn't...

So do you prefer the iphone or Blackberry? and why?
Yes it does, no issues at all. As for the girl at the store, sounds like she might have a future at some of the BMW dealers in either service or parts...

I was thinking the same thing! Don't forget BMW sales -- she could probably work in that department at some dealerships with minimal additional training!

I use Outlook quite a bit and understand the Blackberry does not sync with Outlook though. Is this correct?
I have a new BB 8130 (Pearl), and it sync's perfectly with our company's Exchange Server Outlook email system, as well as my home POP3 email account using Outlook (though with the latter I can't send email, only receive).

Also there is a Blackberry 8130 snap-in adapter for the 5 series at least.

I've used the "big" Blackberries for years, and felt like I'd never go to the non-QWERTY smaller keyboard. However, I did just that, I went with the Pearl (model 8130)which is smaller than the iPhone, and find the smart typing works well. I don't miss the big blackberry at all.
