Phone Driving Me Nuts
#1
So I recently had the ejectbox installed, and finally got the dealer to properly reprogram the TCU so that I could have my V60i work with the car. At first, things worked fine -- it took a couple of tries, but usually my V60i would sync up. Now, it takes about 10 tries before it syncs -- and I'm getting so fed up with this that I think I might just go ahead and buy the CPT9000. However, I recall reading a post on roadfly where someone wrote that he was having the same sync-problems with the CPT9000. So ... can anyone here confirm or deny whether the CPT9000 also presents a similar problem?

Do you know what version of software you have? I have the CPT9000 setup and had a horrendous time syncing up until I went from CIP version 11.x to 12.2. Also, during that service, they installed an "updated eject box" for my AT&T phone (part number 84-11-6-946-537 not sure if it's the same part for Verizon, etc.)
Before, I only syncronized about 5% of the time. Now, I syncronize about 90% of the time. When it doesn't sync, I eject and reinstall the phone and it usually syncs. Before, I had to do that like 20 times and by then, I usually just gave up, said some nasty things, then used my other phone!

i have the sprint pcs cpt 9000, sync's up every time - no problem. my other v60i with verizon wouldn't do jack! in fact my dealer installed the eject box and recommended that i go the cheap way by buying a v60i instead. anyway, i ended up buying the cpt 9000 through pacific bmw with some savings. good luck.

by the way, i forgot to add...
so i ordered and got the cpt 9000 phone from pacific bmw. i went to sprint pcs to get it activated and they assigned it a new phone number. then, came the nightmare! they couldn't program it, after several hours of doodling with it, they told me i had to go to the dealership to have it programmed. it just so happen that this was already on a saturday afternoon. of course, just having spent so much money to get this, i didn't want to wait, called the dealership and told me that i'd have to schedule an appointment for programming later the following week. i thought that was unacceptable. so i go home and i log into the bmwwireless.com - - -
needless to say - I WAS ABLE PROGRAM THE PHONE MYSELF! by following the steps listed on the site. i guess the dealer would have the same instructions as well.
no problems ever since, i am now a happy camper, calling one and everyone and their brother since i got the phone hooked up! i never take it out, i just leave it in its cradle. i've been playing with voice recognition these last few days...still figuring it out.

Great news gonzo. If we could only figure out how to hook a DIS programmer to this site, we wouldn't need dealers anymore!
Just so you know, I never eject my phone from the cradle either but once in a while it won't sync and I have to eject and re-insert it to make it work.

Hi Rudy! I agree, the little stuff we can do ourselves saves unnecessary trips to the dealer.
i have yet to experience the resetting of the phone to sync. although VR tells me the phone book is empty - don't know why...yet.

Thanks for all the advice, everyone! I think I'll take my car back to the dealer and ask for the 12.2 update, or I'm assuming v13 is now out? I'm also going to have the eject box replaced -- this is going to be trickier, as I mail-ordered the thing and installed it myself. Anyway, thanks again for all the help, folks.
