O.k.
I've memorized the BMW bluetooth video. Everything goes well up untill when the cars prompts me for the passkey.

I've got a new Motorola Razr with AT&T. After the phone finds the car, it says 'found BMW65140' I click on add, and the phone says 'seeking'. There is no prompt for a passkey on the phone.

The car prompts me for the passkey here. This is the reverse order that the video mentions, o.k. The only problem is that any passkey I enter here gets me the 'connection failed' message.

Is there already a passkey associated with the car or with the phone that can be changed? I can't find how/where to do that anywhere. No mention of a passkey in the phone manual.
I have the exact same problem with my wife's Samsung.

The previous owner had a blackberry on the list, but I deleted it first.

Help!! I'm starting to feel very stupid.

Figured it out.

Another old post made me think of it. When you enter the paskey, you have to go down and click on'enter passkey'. I went up and thought I hit the 'enter' button, but it was the 'go back' button in the upper left corner. DUH!

Glad you figured it out. When I initially read your first post, it seemed like you were doing everything correctly...

Couldn't figure out why my Motorola V3M would not pair with the Bimmer. Thank you for the secret!

Thank you very much, I have had this problem for six months and could not figure it out. I don't feel completely stupid the dealer also could not get the phone to work (most likely did not try to hard). I read this posting went out to my car and low and behold life is good.
