It is still a bit of a pain to have the smaller entries as a sim will only take 14 letter names. I use with the phone memory multiple numbers per name. If you copy these to the sim they appear:
john
john1
john2
so I've put
john HSE
john MBL
john WK
and so on
It gets you there

I took my ten month old nokia 6230 into a nokia store to get a software upgrade which took a week, because the man from BMW said the new handset software worked on bluetooth on my new 535d sport, well im telling you he's full of s..t
If any one has a cool phone that transferes the phone book please tell me

What works best for me is to have the sim card set out as previously described, but for the handset use the 'phone' memory. This allows the multiple numbers for one person and longer name inputs. I use this all the time. The car still reads the entries on the sim whether you have it as the'memory in use' or not.
I am sure (hoping THEY are taking notice of the humble customer) that BMW will produce an adapter for the 6230 now it syncs with their cars. Especially as 6310i is no longer produced.
I have tried an aftermarket 'pop port' adapter designed to fit the Nokia car kit craddle for the 6310i but it doesn't quite fit. I hope that after a battle with a Dremmel things may be differant
This will solve the charging problem, but alas not the aerial boost....I'm working on it.
Johno535, 4200 on the clock and definately getting sweeter
I came from a chipped E39 530d sport and this is far more enjoyable.
Had a nice country road burn yesterday, and it was very good fun. I find myself 'going s@*t better slow down a bit here' the car justs seems to want to charge and charge (all that torque), great for powering out of bends and big brakes to lose the speed quickly going in.
Come to think of it....got to go...got to find a country road!
