I took my ten month old nokia 6230 into a nokia store to get a software upgrade which took a week, because the man from BMW said the new handset software worked on bluetooth on my new 535d sport, well im telling you he's full of s..t

I have just had the same prob. The first time i took it to a Nokia service centre the firmware they upgraded did not work either. It has to be at least version 5.26 I have the new 5.35 and my sim phone book syncs no problem. Do you have your numbers on your sim?
To check firmware press *#0000# on your phone
