You are 100% right! What stinks is that my "master tech" at BMW didn't even know that. It took three days for him to figure it out. Now I just have to find a used TCU. Any ideas?

You can either buy one from a wrecker and have it programmed to your vehicle of see if BMW will sell you a refurbished TCU. Back in '04 when I had my E60, the cost was $2000 just for the TCU and then programming was on top.

BMW wants $499 for one, but retail is for suckers and I've been trying to find one else where for cheaper. I'm goin to hold out for a little and see if one pops up.
